Terry Overlin

BASSIST/LEAD VOCALIST/SONGWRITER

Founder, and lead songwriter of the rock band Whisky Bleu. Terry Overlin is a multi-talented, and committed musician in every way. In its current form Whisky Bleu has been quickly growing in popularity, and reaping the rewards. Terry is a true Bluesman, and incredible Bassist/Vocalist.

Terry was born in West Covina, California in the mid-50s, best times to be interested in music. He first started playing at 19, originally acoustic guitar and then met Larry Larson who was an amazing rock guitarist who turned him into a bassist. At 22 he joined a band called Notorius with Tori Aiello opening for bands like Poison, Motley Crue, Great White, Faster Pussycat, and John Corabi.

In 1999 he joined a band called American Catapult, was signed to a label, made 4 CDs, had radio play and toured for eight years. In 2009 he was signed to Tate Music Group with a band called Killer McCoy, produced one album, was played on the radio stations while touring the Midwest. Now the Leader of Whisky Bleu, Bassist, Singer, Songwriter

Aiden Dean

LEAD GUITARIST

Born and raised a Texan, specifically a Weatherford Texan, I started playing guitar at 12, to impress people, then felt a connection to music which is why I am where I am today. It probably helps that mom's side of the family are mostly musicians.

At first, I focused on metal, then classic rock, and once I found people like Stevie Ray and BB King, my world changed.

Whisky Bleu is my first band, I've never even played through an entire song before this. Covers aren't my thing.

I stumbled across the band leader, Terry, at work. I was mid rush but he stopped and asked if I played. Ended up being labeled as a backup until I showed him my work, now I'm here.

Joe Miranda

Drummer

As a kid I started playing the accordion for a couple of years. Then I started listening to the drumming in music and instantly fell in love with the drums. My first influences were Danny Seraphine of Chicago and Simon Kirke of Bad Company. In high school I played in the marching band and also in a couple of copy bands.

After H.S. I joined the Navy, still playing drums. After going back home I joined a band called 13th Hour. At first we played copies but quickly switched to originals. We cut our teeth in Hollywood at clubs like Gazzarri's, The Whiskey a-go-go and The Roxy. After leaving California I moved around for a few years just jamming with different people and settled in Ft. Worth. I played with a biker band for a couple of years doing copies. Later, looking for an original band I joined Metonic, a metal band, quit then joined Solution X, broke up, went back to Metonic and they broke up. I joined Swarm, an industrial metal band. Still needing something different I quit them and ended up joining Whisky Bleu.

I'm not endorsed by any companies but I play Sonor drums and Ludwig snares, Paiste cymbals, Gibraltar hardware, Vater sticks, Evans heads with Remo's for the snares.

Julia George

WIND SYNTH/FLAUTIST/BACKING VOCALIST

Julia was born in the 60s, into an era of music aligned to Woodstock, Rock n Roll, Big Band, and learned to love music from her classical pianist dad who filled her childhood w every instrument and sound possible, and her mom who while not able to ‘carry a tune in a bucket,’ loved the emotional impact of music. Early influences Nat King Cole for appreciation of song in telling a story w the melody, and Ian Anderson for inspiration in “playing from the heart and mind” are ongoing subtext inspirations while on stage. After 40+ yrs’ experience on the flute, J sees music as an opportunity for continually expanding her ear playing over and around lyrics and adding to songs, “just enough and not too much,” the biggest lessons learned from her orchestra and band leaders repeatedly throughout her years of classical training. She finds it an ongoing creative challenge in exploring ways to incorporate flute outside of most’s understandings of flute, expanding minds showing it is no longer just for classical music, though Bach, Beethoven and Mozart definite influences.

This is the second band she has been in with husband Terry, the first P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens) having played around Los Angeles where she earned a reputation for being able to play and add to a song her touch, having learned early in childhood she has perfect pitch.

Every show is a penny in that jar of promises to her dad, She having promised him she would “always do something w your flute.” “This is for you, Dad.”
